Internal linking in 3 minutes

Internal linking is an important part of SEO, and planning and implementing it is easier than you might think. Do you have a spare three minutes? I’ll show you how to implement internal linking on your site to meet the expectations of Google and users.

SEO internal linking

For internal linking, we use two methods: you can create boxes on parent pages and place anchors in blog articles.

What does it look like in practice? Here’s an example:

internal linking 1

On the parent page, I placed small boxes linking to listings for each city and province. Each box links to a different subpage. Such linking works especially well for local positioning. However, you can link not only to locations, but also to categories, promotions, etc.

SEO linking in blog articles

Internal SEO linking is also worth introducing in blog articles. You could even say that this is one of the most common reasons why entrepreneurs choose to have a company blog at all. It is very simple – you just need to include keywords in the article and with these words link to the positioned pages.

For example, here a blog post immediately directs the customer to a subpage of the product they are potentially interested in:

Great, but how to control, the number of links per sub-page? I have a simple way to do it. Here you can use the plugin
Yoast
, which you already know (I hope, and if not, it’s worth catching up) from my previous articles. In the plug-in it is possible to preview how many links are going out from a subpage and how many are going to it. Go to Entries > All Entries. Here in the columns on the right you will approach the number of outgoing and incoming links:

Are you not doing SEO linking or doing it very irregularly? Or maybe you also want to start link building, i.e. acquiring inbound links? Use the tips above or just contact me. You will see that the visibility of your site will really increase.
