Google My Company verification – available methods

Currently, Google provides 5 ways to make Google business card verification smooth and convenient for the business owner.

Phone or SMS

The Google My Business card verification method via phone or SMS is one of the easiest ways to confirm the authenticity of a business card. After selecting this verification method, Google will send a verification code to the phone number provided. All you have to do is enter the verification code on your Google My Business card to confirm that you are the owner of the business and that you actually want to manage your business card on Google.

To use this verification method, select “phone verification” or “SMS verification” during the Google My Business card verification process. Then enter the phone number to which the verification code is to be sent.

The verification code is usually generated automatically and sent within minutes of selecting this verification method.

Verifying a Google My Business card via phone or SMS is fast and convenient, as it does not require the use of snail mail or email. In addition, sending the verification code to the phone number increases the level of security, as potential fraudsters will not be able to take control of the business card if they do not have access to the business owner’s phone.

E-mail

The Google My Business card verification method via email is one of the available ways to confirm the authenticity of a business card. When you choose this verification method, Google will send a verification code to the email address you provided. Enter the verification code on the Google My Business card.

To use this verification method, the business owner should select the “email verification” option during the Google My Business card verification process. Then enter the email address to which the verification code is to be sent. The verification code is automatically generated and sent to the email address provided.

The method of verifying a Google My Business card via email is very popular because it’s simply convenient. However, it’s worth keeping in mind that for some companies, an email address may not be a reliable enough source of verification, which may prompt Google to require other verification methods.

Video recording

Verifying a Google My Business card with a video recording is one of the available ways to confirm the authenticity of a business card. However, this method of verification is only available for selected types of businesses, such as restaurants or hotels, and only in certain countries.

To use this method of verification, you need to record a short video showing the interior of your business and showing that it is indeed open to customers. Then, you send the video to Google, and the Google team uses it to verify the authenticity of the company. The final action item on Google’s part is to notify the business card owner of the verification result.

This method of verifying a Google My Business card with a record is designed to ensure that business cards represent real companies. Only those that actually exist and are open to customers. This method of verification can also be useful for companies that do not have a permanent address, such as booths at trade shows or stalls.

However, I must emphasize that the availability of this verification method and the requirements for the video may vary from country to country and from company to company.

Live video call

To use this verification method, the business owner must schedule a video call with a Google employee to verify the business card. During such an interview, the business owner introduces his company and proves that it is indeed open to customers. A Google employee may also ask to take a virtual tour of the company’s interior or show documents such as utility bills or leases.

Once the call is completed, Google verifies the authenticity of the business, and the business owner will receive a notification of the verification result.

This method of verification can be particularly useful for companies that do not have a permanent address or that have recently opened. Keep in mind, however, that this verification option is only available for certain types of companies and only in certain countries.

Summary

Verifying a Google My Business card is a mandatory part of setting up this marketing tool. A business card is an excellent way to reach local customers. It’s free, so all the more reason to take advantage of it.
