Step 5: Analyze link quality

To assess whether a link is good or not, you need to pay attention to several factors, such as:

  • Domain authority: the higher, the better the quality of the link
  • Link Equity: an indicator also called link juice, which is the value of a site that is shared across all subpages. The linking site passes on part of its link juice to the linked site.
  • Contextuality: a link with context related to the topic of the page is more valuable
  • Traffic: pages visited frequently are more valuable
  • Credibility: sites with high credibility are more valuable.
  • Link attributes: links with dofollow attribute are more valuable than nofollow links.

Summary

Semrush offers many options for analyzing inbound links to your site and your competitors’ sites. It allows you to learn about the most important links that affect your site’s position in search results and compare them with those of competing sites. Link building is a must if you want to achieve better search engine results.
